The four and final layer of the earth is the inner core. This layer is right in the centre of the earth and is about 2000 kilometres thick. It is believed that is is made up of a combination of iron and nickel. The inner core is solid as the high pressure this layer of the earth is under the iron cannot melt. This layer is extremely hot and is believed that the temperatures are as hot as the sun at 5450 degrees Celsius.
